National Day Parade 2018
This year, numerous cadets had participated in our school's National Day Parade. It was with extreme honour and pride that our cadets marched into the hall with to kick start this annual event. One of our Sec 2s had the privilege to take part in the marching contingent for the first time. Below she shares her thoughts throughout this experience.

Participating in the school NDP this year was an eye-opening experience for me as I got the rare chance to train together with different students from the other uniformed groups, and getting to know a few acquaintances. The trainings before the actual parade were not easy as we had to train under the hot sun for many hours. The strict discipline of being in a Uniformed Group also made us more keen to put on our best performance and practise our hardest. Although the trainings were tough, they were worth it as we got to improve our drill standard and perfect our marching.
On the day of the celebration, all of us were very nervous as we had trained hard for many weeks; from learning the sequence and drills, to perfecting and synchronising our formation in an attempt to put up the best performance for the school. In the end, we were thankful that all the hard work we had put in had paid off. The support from the school was a definite approval of the hard work we had put in. Alas, after the parade was over, we felt very satisfied with our performance. At the same time, however, we felt disappointed that our good times during training had come to an end.
In all, NDP 2018 was a great and wonderful opportunity for us to interact, bond and improve. Not only did we make new friends, we also managed to show the school our Uniformed Group’s high standard of drills with a sense of pride.
