Emergency Preparedness Day 2017

On 25 March 2017, a few of our cadets had the opportunity to help Bedok NPC for the Emergency Preparedness Day at Fengshan. A Sec 2 cadet reflects on her experience and thoughts throughout this activity.

On 25 March 2017, we went to Fengshan community to help out Bedok NPC for the Emergency Preparedness Day. It was a very enriching experience as we got to educate the public on how to stay safe and what to do during a terrorist attack, as well as how to apply IFAS.

Although the job LCP Jia Hui and I were assigned to do was rather slack as there were already police officers managing the vehicles, we still managaed to help the crowd and educate them on terrorism as well as help out with the photo booths. 
I was also quite surprised at the number of families that turned up for the event as there were many parents and grandparents who brought their children along to attend the event. It is good to see families making the effort to come here to take part in these activities and getting to learn more of it in the process. 

We must be fully prepared as Singapore is a possible terrorist target, so I feel that having this kind of events is very good, and can help to educate the public, no matter young or old.
