Singapore Youth Festival Opening Ceremony 2008
On 26 June 2008, our cadets participated in the Singapore Youth Festival Opening Ceremony 2008. Here is one of their reflections on the event.

In commemoration of the bi-annual Singapore Youth Festival, SGT Rachel Yong and SGT Yohana Cahyana signed up for the Singapore Youth Festival Opening Ceremony (SYFOC). Although the actual opening ceremony was held on 27th June, the trainings in preparation for the event started in early May. Students from various uniformed groups and CCAs have trained diligently in order to put up their best performance on the memorable SYFOC.
The NPCC and NCC cadets were chosen to be the Guards of Honour (GOH). It was a privilege to us as the uniformed groups that functions under the government. There were a total of 4 contingents, NPCC Girls, NPCC Boys, NCC Girls and NCC Boys.
Although the rehearsals were tiring and exhausting, all those hard work had certainly paid off in the SYFOC. We were bestowed the chance to wear the GOH uniformed and a chance to meet a renowned Minister of Education. It was an unforgettable experience to be able to stand in front of the crowd as a representative for our very own nation, Singapore.
